We don't treat parts of you. We treat the whole you.
Our Whole Person Care model addresses every dimension of who you are — emotional, physical, spiritual, relational, intellectual, and nutritional — recognizing that each area of life is deeply connected to overall health and healing.
For over 40 years, The Center has practiced Whole Person Care.
For over 40 years, The Center has practiced Whole Person Care — a comprehensive approach designed to address the whole person, not just symptoms alone.
Founded by Dr. Gregory Jantz in 1984, Whole Person Care is built on the understanding that emotional health is deeply connected to many areas of life, including physical health, relationships, nutrition, stress, purpose, and spiritual wellbeing. Dr. Jantz often described healing as looking at all of the different pieces of the puzzle — recognizing that depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, burnout, and other struggles are rarely caused by just one thing alone.
That is why our team includes counselors, psychiatric providers, naturopathic doctors, dietitians, fitness specialists, and other professionals — all working together through one coordinated treatment plan centered around each individual client.
How we care for the whole person
Our Whole Person Care model addresses every dimension of who you are — emotional, physical, spiritual, relational, intellectual, and nutritional — recognizing that each area of life is deeply connected to overall health and healing.
Emotional well-being
Understanding the patterns, beliefs and unprocessed pain driving how you feel — and learning practical skills to respond to your emotions with awareness instead of reaction.
Physical health
A full medical workup, sleep and movement protocols, and coordination with our naturopathic team. Mood and the body are inseparable; we treat them as one system.
Spiritual peace
Optional, never required. For those who want it, our spiritual care helps reconnect to faith and meaning. For those who don't, we honor where you are.
Relational happiness
Therapy that includes the people in your life — partners, parents, children, friends. Healing happens in connection, not isolation.
Intellectual growth
Psychoeducation, cognitive skills training, and reading materials so you understand what's happening in your brain — and have the language to advocate for yourself afterward.
Nutritional vitality
On-site dieticians address how food affects mood, energy, sleep and recovery. For many clients, this is the first time they've been taught the connection.
Our vision is to be A Place of HOPE — providing inspired healthcare for restoring balance to the body, mind, and spirit.
More than outpatient. Less than inpatient. Fully focused on you.
Our Whole Person Care program bridges the gap between standard outpatient therapy and full residential treatment. Clients participate in full-day programming six days a week, with the option to stay in supportive local housing during their time in Edmonds.
This combination — structured daytime support with personal responsibility outside program hours — is intentional. It helps clients build practical tools and begin applying them in everyday life. Our typical program length is 4 weeks, though stays may be shortened to 2 weeks or extended to 8 weeks based on individual needs and clinical recommendations.
We also proudly offer one-day admissions. In many cases, individuals who call today may be able to begin treatment as soon as tomorrow.
You probably have questions. Here are some answers.
How is partial hospitalization different from regular therapy?
Traditional outpatient therapy can be an important and effective part of mental health care. Sometimes, however, individuals need a more intensive level of support and structure than weekly therapy alone can provide. Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is designed to address the many interconnected areas that can impact emotional wellbeing — including emotional, physical, spiritual, relational, intellectual, and nutritional health.
Clients are supported by a coordinated team of counselors, psychiatric providers, naturopathic doctors, dietitians, fitness specialists, and other professionals working together through one shared treatment plan.
Do I have to be religious to come here?
No. Spiritual support is available for clients who want it, but it is never required. We work with individuals of all faith backgrounds, as well as those with no faith tradition at all. Our team’s goal is to meet each client exactly where they are. The one thing we hope every client brings with them is a willingness to pursue healing and HOPE.
How long does treatment typically last?
Four weeks is a typical length of stay, but every client’s needs are different. Some individuals may benefit from a shorter stay, while others may need additional time and support. Your Admissions Team Specialist will speak with you by phone to better understand your needs and help determine the level of care and length of stay that may be most appropriate for you.
Will my insurance cover this?
We are in-network with Premera and Blue Cross Blue Shield, and work with most major insurance providers. We also offer private-pay options and CareCredit financing. Our admissions team verifies coverage before you commit to anything. See full insurance & financing details.
Is this inpatient or outpatient treatment?
Neither — and that is intentional. Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provides full-day treatment six days a week in a structured, supportive environment, with optional local housing nearby for clients staying in Edmonds during treatment. Clients participate in a comprehensive schedule of group therapy, individual counseling, psychiatric support, nutrition support, fitness and wellness activities, educational sessions, and other therapeutic services throughout the day. Programming is designed to provide a higher level of support and accountability than traditional outpatient therapy, while still allowing clients personal time and independence outside program hours. This model offers the structure and intensity many individuals need during the day, while allowing them to return to their own space in the evenings to begin practicing the tools and routines they are learning in treatment.
